"[Diamanda Galás] seems to have been born from the womb of a Greek land that no longer exists, but in Myth. Where the Maenads were synonymous with rapturous fury and were the female companions of Dionysus."

"Diamanda is one of the few who dares to express what is left after the devastation of the world -- only women in black...."

There's no electric guitar and perhaps that would have been redundant - or even stock - considering the unique instrument that is Galás' vocals. It's piercing and intense. Put all these parts together and you've got a heavy rock band that not only has you bobbing your head to the groove, you also recoil from the sheer ferocity."

NEW!
Rotting Christ's Aelo selected as Album of the Month in Terrorizer

Diamanda Galás makes an appearance on the new release of Greece's most famous metal band, Rotting Christ. In it, Sakis writes new music for a cover version of Orders from the Dead from Galás' Defixiones, Will and Testament album. "It is a huge honour for our band to have Diamanda Galás on our new album", Sakis stated. "Getting her approval to use her voice as it can be originally heard in her 'Orders from the Dead' song feels like we did the most successful cover in our career, with one of the most soulful songs in the history of music. The dead are still waiting for their justification..." To which Diamanda responded: "This cover is superlative and reflective of hard work. I share with Sakis the desire not to see Greece burn to the ground without a fight." Watch for the album to be released in February 2010 in Europe and the U.S. ___________________________________
